| In this context, the announcement of the competition "Architectures for the coast" is part of a very sensitive area on the border between urban design and preservation of the environment. The facilities and services will inevitably have to interact with the natural environment, which is always changing dynamics. The "Dune to Poetto" aims to make this dialogue possible, the interaction between urban renewal and re-naturalization, through strategies of adaptation to the environment and landscape. It is a constant interaction between the precariousness of the natural elements and static architectures. The intention is to reverse this paradigm, when necessary, to continue the temporary structures of the movement and change of the coastal ecosystem. Sand is the key to the project, the dynamic element that draws its movement coastal scenery. Thanks to the dunes the effect of natural forces is mild and self-regulating. The driving concept is to reinterpret the original design and natural beach to revive the process of accumulation of dunes. These architectures are used to support the creation of a new topography as in the past. To avoid the threat of losing the time the true identity of Poetto dunes. | ||||

The modus operandi for the implementation of this process is "recycling the landscape."This idea comes from the constant concern for the engineering works adapted to the environment, necessary to maintain the morphology of the beach. The work of improving the environment will inevitably be of great help in the use of resources and energy.Recycling means to recover first, and save energy, a key action to minimize the environmental impact of urban action and create a sustainable environment.
